Mícheál Collins
Co-founder, Director and Trainer
MBA (INSEAD), MSc (Physics)

Micheal graduated with an MBA from top global business school INSEAD, specializing in Entrepreneurship, Business Development and Finance. Prior to setting up the company, Micheal worked in the UK, Ireland, Spain and the US as a senior consultant for various multi-nationals, including IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, iXL (Scient) and Corel Corp. Micheal holds a Master of Science in Physics from University College Cork, Ireland and was admitted to Mensa with an extraordinarily high IQ score of 174.

Nagitha Kumarasinghe
Co-founder, Director and Trainer
MBA (INSEAD), LLB (Barrister at Law)

A graduate of prestigious European business school INSEAD, Nagitha spent the early years of his career as a London-based consultant for various multi-nationals, including KPMG, IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to setting up Collins Kumarasinghe Associates, he worked as an independent consultant for clients in Europe and Asia dealing with business development, strategy, and operations. In addition to his INSEAD MBA , Nagitha also holds an LLB (Law) from the University of Birmingham and is a Barrister at Law (London Bar School).
Blake Hurst
Senior Verbal Trainer (GRE Verbal 99%; LSAT 179 [99.9%])
Stanford University J.D.

Prior to joining Prep Zone, Blake worked as an assistant professor of business at a liberal arts college in the US. His connection with Singapore dates back several years to his days as a Fulbright Scholar at NUS. Having scored above the 99th percentile on the SAT and GRE verbal sections as well as on the LSAT, Blake is committed to help Prep Zone clients improve their test scores in order to achieve their academic goals. Beyond training, Blake has led GMAT-Zone’s most recent verbal content updates and is responsible for much of the world-class content used in our classroom.

Michael Heller
Senior Verbal Trainer (GMAT 770 ; Overall 99%)
Economics (UCLA)
A native of California, and veteran of the SAT examination system, Mike was headhunted directly from the US by Prep Zone upon his graduation from UCLA in the Spring of 2010 and is tasked with helping to extend Prep-Zone's innovative test prep and admissions consulting services to students across Asia. He has since aided Prep Zone SAT students jump their percentile rankings in standardized tests by 10 to 20 percentile points. As well as the SAT, Michael has also taken the GMAT and scored a 720 (95th percentile). He plans to highlight his quality academics, solid GMAT score and international work experience when applying to MBA programs at schools such as Stanford and Berkeley in a few years. At UCLA, Michael studied economics and participated in numerous extra-curricular activities. These activities included creating and operating a lucrative sports collectibles business, interning at a top LA talent agency, and taking an active role in Barack Obama's presidential campaign. When Mike isn’t helping his students dominate US tests, he enjoys travelling to exotic places and playing sports such as tennis and basketball.
Natalie Beach
Verbal Trainer

Natalie grew up in Virginia, about an hour outside of Washington, D.C, and went on to graduate from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and a minor in Economics. At UVA, Natalie mentored first-year university students as a Resident Advisor and realized her passion for helping students reach their goals. Having scored very well on the SAT, with 98th percentile Critical Reading and 99th percentile Writing scores, she was a great fit for Prep Zone after graduation. Aside from teaching, Natalie is highly interested in Asian politics, and in her spare time enjoys improving her Mandarin. She has experience working as a Public Relations intern at Westinghouse Electric Company's Beijing office. Additionally, Natalie enjoys camping, yoga, and horseback riding.
Matthew J. Rogers
Trainer (IB, SAT, GRE)

Matt joined Prep Zone after relocating to Singapore from Shanghai, where he had been working as an instructor for the SAT, SAT II (Biology, Chemistry, Math) and AP/IB exams. Matt is a certified teacher with over 6 years of teaching experience and has scored in the 99th percentile on both the SAT and GRE. He has helped hundreds of students master the content and test taking strategies necessary to reach their goals on standardized exams. Matt graduated university with two B.Sc. degrees, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, and worked as a research scientist and tutor at the University of California, San Francisco prior to beginning his career as a teacher and instructor.  Additionally, Matt is a qualified SCUBA Instructor and indulges his passion for diving as often as possible.

Julia (Lian) Zhu
Mathematics Trainer (GMAT 760; Overall 99%; Quant 99%)

To Julia, life is about chasing dreams. In order to gain admittance to a top master’s program in the US after acquiring her Bachelor’s degree in Law from a prestigious Chinese University, Julia set her sights on the GMAT. After extensive preparation, she landed a score of 760 (99 percentile) with a perfect Math score (51). This GMAT success combined with well-thought out applications resulted in Julia’s admittance to the Master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. However, Julia didn’t just stop there. Her experience as a volunteer English teacher for the children of Migrant workers in China revealed Julia’s passion for teaching. Recalling her fulfilling time with those children, Julia decided to join Prep-Zone and help those similar to herself chase their own higher education dreams. Beyond her love of movies and travel, Julia has also been a die-hard Formula One fan for about ten years. The spirit of Formula One –always pursuing the best and never giving up – motivates Julia to work extremely hard to achieve her goals and help her students achieve theirs. It is this spirit, as well as her experience in GMAT and TOEFL, that allows Julia to help her students overcome various test-prep difficulties and win their life races.

Aditya Narasimha
Math Trainer (GMAT 750)

Aditya, a design automation engineer by profession, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India and a Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Aditya began teaching as an endeavour aimed to fulfil his passion for mentoring young professionals. In class, Aditya utilizes his standardized testing experience - he has scored 750 on GMAT (97th percentile) and 1500 on GRE (97th percentile) – to mentor his students to top scores. Aditya intends to capitalize on his cross cultural experiences as he interacts with students from various academic and professional backgrounds while pursuing his objective of earning an MBA from a top business school.

Elizabeth Kokemoor
Verbal Trainer (GMAT 730; Verbal 99%)
International Relations (Pomona College)

A graduate of top-ranked liberal arts school Pomona College, Libby is originally from rural Wisconsin and loves music, traveling, and learning new languages. She has scored 730 on the GMAT (99th Percentile Verbal) and 2290 on the SAT (800 Reading, 800 Writing). Having tutored English grammar, vocabulary, and essay writing for non-native speakers before joining Prep-Zone, Libby enjoys working with students to decode sentence structure and make grammar rules accessible and easy to understand. At Pomona, Libby sang in the choir and Glee Club, served as student liaison for the International Relations program, and was a member of the college's student judicial board. Her other experiences include studying abroad in Alexandria, Egypt and internships at non-profit and government offices in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.

Anjali Krishnan
Math Trainer
Mechanical Engineering (National University of Singapore)
Prior to joining Prep Zone Anjali was working in Barclays on the Interest Rate Swaps team. She studied Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore under the SIA-NOL scholarship. Anjali also pursued her love of political science and interned at Rajaratnam School of International Studies for a project on terrorism research.  This stint, combined with her work with an NGO to bring medical healthcare to rural parts of India, has convinced her that there are many adventures to be had if only one is willing enough. She hopes that she can coach others to follow their pursuit of knowledge too!
Tushar Jain
Trainer (SAT, SAT/SAT II (Mathematics), IB, GMAT)

Born and raised in India, Tushar came to Singapore in 2004 when he was awarded the SIA Youth scholarship to pursue Junior College education. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Applied Mathematics, where he was a member of NUS Cricket and NUS Stage. Upon graduation and before joining Prep-Zone, he helped students prepare for Mathematical Olympiads in Singapore. A sports enthusiast, Tushar likes to spend his free time either playing or watching soccer, cricket and tennis. He’s more than willing to help you out with your math problems or discuss how Manchester United has fared this season!
Hogan Paschal
Verbal Trainer (SAT & ACT)
Psychology (Harvard University)

Hogan scored a 2220 (96th percentile) on the SAT, a 171 (98th percentile) on the LSAT, and a 730 (96th percentile overall, 99th percentile Verbal) on the GMAT.  In addition to her standardized testing success, Hogan has extensive teaching experience, including working as a Ski Instructor in Colorado and as a Calculus Workshop Leader for the Math Department at Harvard. After graduating from Harvard University with an honours degree in Psychology, Hogan worked as a legal assistant at a prominent law firm in New York City. In this position, she further developed her writing and critical reasoning skills while working on class action gender and race discrimination suits.

Nazia Manzoor
Verbal Trainer (SAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS)

Nazia enjoys teaching English to students from across culture. Before arriving at Prep-Zone, she was teaching English at East West University at Bangladesh. Her teaching skills were honed by excellent and supportive faculty members at her Alma Mater in SUNY Albany where she was a Masters’ student before becoming a full-time teacher. Living and working in such diverse places like the US, Bangladesh and now Singapore have contributed greatly to her teaching style which includes innovation, breaking down teacher-pupil barrier and open communication. Upon completion of her MA (with a concentration on Culture, Transculture and Global Studies), Nazia was awarded the “Outstanding MA Thesis Award 2010” for her Masters’ Thesis on Nationalism and National Identity. She also graduated from college as a Summa Cum Laude and was on the Dean’s Merit List for three consecutive years as an undergraduate student. Nazia enjoys writing as well. She has worked in magazines and newspapers for many years and still publishes occasionally. She has also served as an Intern with the United Nations in New York where she was responsible for writing for the weekly newsletter for the Dept. of Economic and Social Sciences (DESA). Other responsibilities ranged from interviewing top stakeholders at DESA and producing materials and stories for the DESA website and DESA News.

Ravi Viswanathan
Verbal Trainer (GMAT 770; Overall 99%; Verbal 99%)
Mechanical and Production Engineering (Nanyang Technological University – NTU)

Ravi enjoys training students in the verbal concepts tested on the GMAT test. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). While at university, he represented the NTU debating squad, achieving success at the international intervarsity level as both a debater and an adjudicator. He served as Chief Adjudicator for the World Universities Debating Championships held in Singapore in 2003–2004. Prior to joining Prep Zone, he had several years' work experience working in the offshore oil and gas industry. He is currently exploring opportunities in the renewable energy sector in Singapore. In his free time, Ravi plays badminton, enjoys travelling and follows the latest developments in gadgets / technology.

Yash Joshi
Verbal Trainer (SAT, GMAT, GRE, LNAT, UKCAT)
Engineering (National University of Singapore)

A former scholar of the National University of Singapore, Yash is a software developer with a wealth of experience in creating cutting-edge products. He loves languages – computer as well as human – and mathematics. As a Prep Zone trainer, he believes in giving his students personal attention, sharing with them his enthusiasm, and instilling in them a love for learning that not only helps them tackle the test but also endures beyond. At school in London, Yash won multiple prizes in the British Junior Mathematical Challenge and wrote his O-levels a year early. He topped his engineering program in India and came to NUS for postgraduate studies on a DTI scholarship. He now works with a large IT company and specializes in information security. Yash logged 2270 on his GRE with a perfect score in math and has tallied perfect scores in TOEFL.Healso holds a diploma in French and worked as a French Interpreter at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
Anu Chadha

Passionate about teaching, Anu began her career instructing primary and middle school students in Indian ICSE and CBSE based schools. Upon migrating to Singapore, she worked as a substitute in many schools and also tutored local students. However, she would eventually find her niche - teaching English to foreign students. Her varied exposure allowed her to form a unique teaching methodology by adapting some aspects from each of her earlier experiences. Anu has taught at many reputed educational institutes such as RELC, MDIS, FTMS, Cambridge, Prep Zone, etc. as an Associate English Language Lecturer for many years now. In the course of her vocation, she has taught Cambridge ESOL Courses ranging from Cambridge KET/PET/FCE/CAE/CPE to Introductory BEC level and Foundation Diplomas in ELT syllabus to international students intending to gain fluency and proficiency in English. Anu also actively trains students preparing for standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL and SATS, combining mastery of linguistic fundamentals with efficient test taking strategies that result in consistently high scores from her students. Anu aspires to reach the Trainee Trainer level, a designation that will enable her to conduct English Language teaching courses for varied cohorts in different countries. She also intends to expand further in teaching Business English courses and Communication Skills programs tailored for business professionals. Anu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours from University of Delhi, India, where she majored in English. She also holds a Bachelors of Education Degree in teaching English and Social Studies. Anu has furthermore achieved CELTA recognition from University of Cambridge, UK. She continues to upgrade herself by undertaking various professional Teacher Training courses conducted by the British Council.
Ashlyn Vander Woude
Verbal Trainer
English, Gender Studies (University of Southern California)
Ashlyn is dedicated to helping students reach their learning potential. Well versed in the SAT examination system, she scored in the 96th percentile in Critical Reading and in the 97th percentile in Writing, with a perfect score of 12 on the essay. Before joining Prep Zone as a Verbal Trainer, she volunteered as a JEP Writing Mentor at USC. Through this program she helped prepare low-income students from the community for admission to USC and other renowned universities, specializing in SAT preparation and Advanced Placement English. At USC, Ashlyn studied english literature and gender studies, receiving departmental honours for her senior thesis.  She worked as a Graduate Program Assistant for USC’s Ph.D. in Literature & Creative Program. She also held various internships during her time in college. At A Window Between Worlds, a non-profit dedicated to using art as a healing tool for battered women and children, she assisted with the preparation and implementation of leader trainings and workshops. She also interned for the Environmental Protection Agency, where she wrote grant abstracts and refined materials about various EPA programs.
Ethan Treanor
Math & Verbal Trainer (GMAT 770; Overall 99%; Verbal 99%)
International Politics (Georgetown University)

Ethan joined Prep Zone upon graduating from the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, with a degree in International Politics and a certificate in African Studies. While working at Prep Zone Ethan is excited to aid students in their mastery of both math and verbal SAT and GMAT content. He scored a 2350 (99th percentile) on the SAT and a 770 (99th percentile) on the GMAT. During his time at Georgetown, Ethan worked at multiple government agencies and think tanks, including the US Department of State and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies. He was also a member of the Georgetown University Boxing Team. Ethan ultimately hopes to use his experiences working abroad as a cornerstone of his application to become a US Foreign Service Officer.
Akshay Gupta
Math Trainer

Akshay joined Prep Zone after completing his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, since he wanted to try something completely different from the conventional banking/consulting/marketing job. Hailing from India, he has had his fair share of Singapore, having completed his Junior College, and then University education here. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Akshay scored a 780 in Math on his SAT, an 800 on his Math Level 2 SAT Subject Test, and a percentile of 99.5 on his CAT, the standardized test for Indian B-Schools. Besides teaching, his latest hobby is playing squash; so be sure to buzz him the next time you’re looking for a squash partner after class!
Rona Li
Verbal Trainer
English, Modern and Contemporary Literature (University of Virginia)

Rona came to Prep Zone after graduating from the University of Virginia and spending some time in San Francisco. On the SATs, she scored in the 99th percentile for Critical Reading and in the 98th percentile for Mathematics. Rona has also taken the GREs, on which she scored in the 98th percentile for Verbal Reasoning and in the 96th percentile for Quantitative Reasoning. At UVA, Rona studied English with a concentration in Modern and Contemporary Literature and graduated with honours for her senior thesis on Samuel Beckett. She also served as a Resident Advisor to incoming freshmen, held an internship with UVA Women’s Center, and was involved in student government. In her spare time, Rona enjoys doing Bikram yoga, sampling great cheeses, and watching Wes Anderson films.
